Our Work
At Lori’s Hands, we believe in the power of connection. We partner college students with community members living with chronic illnesses to create meaningful relationships that benefit everyone involved. While students provide practical help to support independence at home, they gain something priceless in return—insight, empathy, and life lessons from their clients’ stories and experiences.
Our mission is to build a world where everyone can age with dignity and feel supported by their community. Rooted in values like reciprocity, equity, and neighborliness, we’re making that vision a reality in Newark, Delaware; Baltimore, Maryland; and Metro Detroit, Michigan.
This work is deeply personal to us. Lori’s Hands began in 2009, inspired by the kindness and resilience of Lori LaFave (pictured). Today, we’re proud to carry her legacy forward—connecting generations, fostering empathy, and proving that together, we can make a difference.
