Thank you to our student volunteers and our clients (community-dwelling people with chronic illness) for your patience and understanding as we’ve temporarily transitioned to virtual visits. Our students and clients are engaging in companionship and conversation by phone and video calls. Our students are also assisting their clients with online grocery ordering and navigating community resources. We continue to engage dozens of community volunteers in our Green Ribbons Pen Pals program – clients are starting to receive and enjoy their first set of letters! We are using our Sunny Day Fund to help clients pay for services to address unmet needs (e.g. assisting with the cost of meal delivery). Please keep in touch to learn about how you can engage in our work of supporting older adults and people living with chronic illness in the coming weeks. Thank you to the incredible Lori’s Hands community for rallying together during this challenging time!
