Every hardworking team needs cheerleaders to motivate, celebrate and help cultivate success. The inaugural Baltimore Ambassador Council plans to do just that as it works together to spread the word about the Baltimore chapter of Lori’s Hands.
But don’t expect these cheerleaders to hang out on the sidelines. The seven ambassador council members recently held their first council meeting via Zoom to talk about ways to increase donations, name recognition and client signups for Lori’s Hands. Council members include former student volunteers, current clients and leaders in the social innovation and caregiving sectors.
“This is still a very young chapter, obviously, and it helps to have a set of advisors who will help guide me as Lori’s Hands takes this journey in Baltimore,” said Tiaira Harris, senior program manager of the Charm City chapter. “This is a specially curated group of folks who have different experiences, whether it’s working during the pandemic, building rapport and capacity or helping with name recognition and fundraising.”
Members include Nigel-Ray Garcia, Linda Stewart, Hannah Markle, Marguerite Woods, Vinicia Hayward, Betsey D. Simon and Pamela Stanback. You can read more about them on the redesigned Lori’s Hands website.
Hannah Markle is a University of Delaware graduate who volunteered with Lori’s Hands in Newark and is now working with the Baltimore chapter while in graduate school. As a member of the ambassador council, she hopes to share her experience.
“I’m excited to share with the people in Baltimore so they can really understand the depth of this organization,” Markle said.
